I've been in Oregon for the last week, visiting my brother and sister-n-law. Oregon? is beautiful! Sooo green! I don't think I've been anywhere so green before.

We've gone on many hikes->
Mt. Hood
This was the first of our hikes and was, well, not too impressive. The trails seemed like they ran into each other, with no clear indication of the correct path. There were parts that resembled Blair's Witch Project. We went in a circle in this one section due to the wonderful trail markers. There wasn't much to see, but it was still a pretty Oregon trail.
There are tons of trails actually on Mt.. Hood, but we started this late and those trails require one full day. Maybe next time.

This was a beautiful hike with 1200' elevation. This hike had amazing views at the top! There were views of the forest, views of the Columbia Gorge, views of the nearby mountains and the train.

This was a nice hike, very popular. We went yesterday, but there was a large number of people there. The hike was fairly steep. We hiked to the top of the fall. There was a small river feeding this waterfall. Amazing how a small pool of water can provide such a magnificant scene.

This hike would have been a really nice long one, provided we had the time. The hike was so green and had some great views!
This hike was short- 1.5 miles or so, but the hot springs were rad! There was a wood channel that guided the hot water from the spring to each of these log tubs. There were also another 5 private tubs behind these.
Since this was Oregon I got to see a bunch of naked hippies. There was a sign allowing nudity. Sure, that's fine, but naked homo hippies? Not cool. When we were getting up to leave about 4 homos came in- stripped and filled up their log tubs. They were in their 40's and were laying in the tubs together while the other ones took their pics. Nasty!

We went camping on the beach in Pacific City. Our first drop onto the beach we got stuck. My brother decided to go left in the thick sand vs. right where everyone else goes. We reversed and got out fine. We got to the beach after dark, built a fire and had a few drinks.

The coast looked cool in the morning, lots of fog. I went for a walk and tooks some pictures of seagulls eating huge crabs and larger pieces of seaweed. I picked up a mussel shell and a blob or rocks and shells that were stuck together by sand and water.

We also went on a couple runs to Mt Tabor and Laurelhurst Park. Hill running? I haven't done in it months- I almost died. I need to get into running again- I took a long break after my triathlon :P. Ok, soccer and softball are over, I can get back into it :).

I'm packing up now and will be leaving soon. I can't wait to get home and hang out :).

Back from weekend in Tahoe. Mario and I went to Tahoe Saturday- Tuesday. We got there Sat evening, so just unpacked and went out for dinner/drinks.

Sunday we went to the beach, Zephyr Cove. Very nice! We hiked abit with our chairs, towels and cooler then found a good spot on the beach. We went into the awfully blue & chilly water, hung out on the rocks and soaked up sun on the beach. Beautiful day!

We went back to the hotel, showered then walked to a nearby beach, El Dorado. Lake Tahoe had Labor Day fireworks over the lake. These fireworks were the most amazing ones I have seen! I'm guessing these were actually lit in Nevada and perhaps, that is why they were so cool! Definitely different than your average firework show!

Monday am we went for a bicycle ride. I'm guessing around 25 miles or so, unfortunately some up Kingsbury grade , which is well, not a bike trail. We were trying to connect to the Tahoe Rim trail from 50 . Well, I think we went about 3 miles or so then realized that this strip was all up hill and quite a few miles. We turned around then rode around town and through other street trails. That was a killer ride up that hill!

Monday evening we went to Cecil's Steak and Brew for dinner. Tanya and her mom, Della came up. It was a nice visit and yummy food- mmm Jack Daniels BBQ chicken! We walked around the casinos and lost $60. I was going to play $100 (I usually only play $40), but Ttan and Dellan had to leave. That was a nice visit!

Tuesday- up and leave! I meant to wake up early and go fo a jog. It's awesome jogging in Tahoe, clean fresh air. Well, I stayed in bed and curled up :). I enjoyed that too!

Ok, I've got many things I need to do tomorrow, so must get to bed. I'm still on vacation, yea! September is vacation time with a crazy busy work month. I guess it is good I'm balancing these? HA! Need a vacation if it is that crazy, so good timing :P.
