So next week is my last week in "Oral Communications" class. I think I've gotten a bit of speech experience in the last couple weeks.

The first class we had to learn about a classmate then present our findings to the class.

The second class required a speech about something that changed our live. My speech was on my boxing experience. "I'm now not a road rage driver".

The third class (last week) I did a speech on my trip to India. This speech required the use of visual aids. Fortunately I had saved some India pictures saved on my Yahoo Photos. I lost all pics on my laptop when my roommate ran over my laptop :(. I was able to save some pics from Yahoo and create a slideshow.

This weeks speech focused on voice modulation and teaching. I did my speech on tire rotation. How did I come up with this? Um, I have no idea. I think I did the best with the voice modulation. EVERYONE in the class (14 people) seemed to have forgotten about it. They got all into whatever they were teaching (ballet, making pizza sundaes, playing the game 'spoons'). Their speeches were all in one tone. So, I was satisified with my presentation :).

Next week is our final speech. We need to present a motivational speech. I'd like to do mine on 'Americans and their lack of career commitment'. I notice all too often how Americans take America's job opportunities for granted. People don't want to work in fast food restaurants, deliver newspapers, or do janitorial work. So instead of taking up these 'just as needed' jobs, they sit on their butts and collect money elsewhere. Whether it be from folks dropping change in a tin can on the side of the street, welfare, or mooching off a relative.

There are also a lot of people that simply 'put time in' at work. They don't put their 100% effort in their tasks nor do they care about the quality of their projects.

I'd like to obtain some trusted resource info that semi backs up my opinion. I may change the topic if I don't find anything. Will see. I'd like to get this speech prepared asap. I'm too good at procrastinating. Oh, oh, which brings me to my next subject...

The Personal Efficiency Program is a book I purchased last Friday. I don't buy books too often, however, when I do I buy in bulk. HA- I buy everything in bulk :).

So I picked up this book. I have not begun reading it, but it is here, in my possession soon to be opened up. I figure a lot of the info should be common sense, but I am hoping that reading it and running it through my head will help me trigger some cell to spike the actions. I really do need to make my life efficient. I have TOO much going on and NOT enough time.

I purchased a couple more books. They are all self-improvement books:
The complete idiot's guide to Hypnosis". Just something new and hopefully interesting. New Chakra Healing". Same, seems interesting. Self-Powerment. Yet another 'self improvement book. Yea, yea, these may sound corny, but new, hopefully interesting. Finally, The Goal". This was a recommendation from a colleague that saw I was team lead.

Now to find time to read these....

Haven't been in good mood lately.

Not getting everything done. Feel like a half-ass worker.

Small people get stepped on when large people can't stand firm and push back.

100%? Doesn't feel like I'm putting it in.

Too TOO TOO much to do and cannot seem to rely on folks so continue doing as much as I can do which isn't enough.

Cannot seem to satisfy everyone.

This really sucks.

Can I runaway?

Larissa had a semi-fun weekend. She went to Glen Helen race track in San Bernandino. Mario and a couple of his friends went to race their quads and dirt bikes. I, yes, me WATCHED. SPECTATED. LOOKED at all the fun these boys had. Ooh, ah, oh yes, geez how fun to WATCH y'all go off jumps, race through straight ways, speed around bowls. No more watching, no way. If I am invited again I will be riding. If that means stealing someones bike or quad, I'll be riding. Spectating is NOT fun!

The drive was VERY long. I was sore from working out good during the week and being cramped in the back of a truck for 6 hours isn't the best for your back.

I've started my Bay-to-Breakers workout, with running daily. My primary days to run are Tues,Thurs and Sat, when I run 3-4 miles. Other days, M, W, F I run 1-2 miles. Let's see this body get yolked :P

Oral Communication class starts this week and requires A LOT of reading. I am going to have to focus on nothing but class, work and working out. Will see how I do.

This last weekend was productive. I put together a coffee table. I finally purchased a coffee table and now there is REALLY no room in the living room. Shoot, that means I need to tear my living room apart every time I do Yoga?

I put up some shelves and purchased a few plants for the nice wall plant holder T-tan and Della bought for Christmas. Yea, that’s right, more plants :).

I finally installed one of the faucets that has been sitting in the box for 3 mths. My Dad suggested for me to wear low risers or hip huggers to get the job done. I indicated I was doing this in my own home and not in a cute homeowner’s. Plumbing is more fun than electrical. Hm, I didn’t think that’d be the case, but, well, perhaps it was just easier?

When I worked on the electrical, I had to ghetto rig my two bathroom lighting fixtures. I think it took me 2 hours to install one fixture! I ran into so many stupid little nuisances. Not with plumbing, well this time.

Plumbing was easy. I had some trouble getting the drain plug off and was disgusted while removing the P trap as the water kept splashing me. However, all in all, it was ok. I now have my main bathroom’s faucet to replace. Maybe I’ll purchase a replacement for my kitchen’s faucet. The current kitchen faucet isn’t too nice.

I also put together my tool chest I had received for Christmas. Hold, hold. My brother hadn’t dropped it off until a couple weeks ago. I hadn’t had time to set it up until last weekend. Only thing I need now are, um, good tools :P.

I’ve decided to run the Bay-to-Breakers. I don’t know what possessed me, but something told me to go ahead and do it; I could run it. Uh, sure… this voice seemed to have rapidly vanished the moment I signed up. Well, 7.5 miles? 80% up hill? 2 months to train? I really think I’d do ok. Warn y’all this is something different for me…I have to ‘dedicate’ myself to something. I thought I had dedication, but I’m starting to find out that I possess very few traces of it.

I always considered myself a ‘dedicated’ person. I probably even included it on a few resumes. I recently realized (through my frequent self-analysis) I have trouble dedicating myself to things. Dedication, this means a commitment. Larissa? Commitment? Can those 2 words be paired together? Most likely not. Commitment… sad, I’ve realized I suck at commitment?

I start my 5th class, Oral Communication, next Tuesday. I hope to benefit greatly from this class. We’ll see. The more comfortable I get with conversing, explaining and engaging, the more I will develop and improve my communication.

Sadly, I have a 3.58 GPA. I was hoping to bring home ‘A’s’ throughout my attendance at University of Phoenix, however, I’ve received a B and a B+. :O

I’ve got some good news about my EX500, a friend has been volunteered :P to assist me in getting this bike up and running. Woo! Larissa may know how to ride again. Larissa may be fast again. Larissa may ‘whomp, whomp’ again! Next available weekend I’m going to get started!

Wow.. Laris had time to write this evening. Amazing! Not- she pulled away from her homework when she SHOULDN”T have. Ok, back to it, argh!
