Lots of things have happened since I wrote last. However, I will not bore you with EVERTHANG.
Apparently everythang is how I pronounce everything. I was told last night that I don’t say things correctly. I was told I pronounce it as if it was spelled with an ‘a’ in place of the ‘i’. Yea, yea….I have been told many times that I have an accent. I was born in Hollister, Ca…I don’t have an accent. Sorry folks.
Friday was my Dad’s bday. I set up a ‘bday’ party for him. Being the ORGANIZED coordinator that I am, I mistakenly told my mom we are meeting at the Outback Steakhouse.
I am on my way to Black Angus. Ian, my 26 yr old ~dork~ brother, is on his way to Black Angus. Zach, my 21 yr old ~still trying to find himself~ brother, is on his way to Black Angus.
Zach ends up going to the Cheesecake Factory to see if there is an available table. Woot, there is a table (ooh, first time for me @ Cheesecake Factory). I am still on my way. I pull over (was riding my bike) to listen to my voice messages on my phone. I received about 5 phone calls. My brother has called to inform me of the available table at Cheesecake. I am on my way…
My 2 brothers (only ones living in Ca.) and I are sitting at the table, waiting for my folks. Oops, I guess I should have told them the correct place? Oops, I guess they should pick up their phone like, now! My brother is trying to tell them to meet us at Cheesecake Factory instead.
Mmm. Good food and good cheesecake. I got the German Chocolate one. Um, I LOOVE German Chocolate, but this didn’t really taste like German Chocolate. Even so, it was still yummy….
We all went bowling after. I whooped everyone’s butt. I can’t even bowl….and whomp! Ha, actually, I won them all with a score of 116. There was no whooping and definitely not by a high score. I still won though! Yea, good thing I can’t really get into Dad won the next game w/149.
Sunday Curtis and I took off for some boarding in Tahoe. We used some of his Timeshare days.
We arrive in the room and I spot a huge hot tub in between the living room and bedroom. I was like, um, um, Curtis…wth is a hot tub doing in here? It looked like a honeymoon suite or something. Haha…Curtis is a good friend, but not a ‘hot’ hot tubbin friend, if ya know what I mean :P. I would like to see what comes of his trip next week. Him, his brother, his brother’s friend, and his brother’s friend’s sister are all going up. They will have the same room, lol.
I got to sleep on the hide-a-bed since I insisted on him taking the reg bed. It is his timeshare, not mine! The hide-a-bed was 2 heights. The top half was higher than the bottom half. I think it was time to throw it out and get a new one.
Tahoe was beautiful! 57degrees, sunny, but snow on the slopes. I hate the cold, but love boarding. If the weather was like this every time I went boarding, I could go more than my normal 2xs/yr. Anytime I think about going boarding, my first thoughts aren’t “Ooh, boarding, FUN, FUN!” My first thoughts are “Ick, cold, snow, wet, long drive.”
We arrived on the slopes for afternoon/evening boarding in Squaw. The snow was a lil slushy and hard and icy in spots. Overall the snow was fine. The weather was excellent! We hit some diamonds and squares. The squares all seemed to have some level parts that sucked majorly. Some areas you had to take off your board and walk. That isn’t fun. It is more tiring than boarding. We agreed to stick to the diamonds.
Since my camera is broken, I wasn’t able to snap mucho shots. Curtis had his camera, but seemed to have forgotten that he had it in his pocket while we were boarding. So, no boarding pics, only scenery.
The evening boarding wasn’t a lot of fun. There were only 2 lifts open, one being the cable car. The cable car takes a long time to ride up. There is waiting, boarding, and moving. We decided to stay up top and go on the very short run and board park.
I attempted some jumps. I did pretty good, but biffed once after I landed? I was kind of heading into a pole. So got scurred and biffed :P. We had an excellent time!
The last run we headed all the way down. Oh my, the snow was sooo hard! I could hardly carve. I had my biggest biffs on that run. Ouch! My butt now hurts from those falls.
One thing I learned on this trip…Curtis’s driving makes me VERY uncomfortable! I don’t understand how he can drive so well on the track (autocross, speedring, etc.) but is so inattentive while driving on the street. His driving drives me crazy!
He has to look at a person with the person he is conversing with. In order for him to keep his eyes on the road while we are talking I look out the passenger window. I still caught him looking at me though.
ACK!!! Speaking of…chinga. RIGHT when I was typing this we almost get hit! It wasn’t his fault, but ha, weird. The guy in the left hand lane decided he was going to change lanes. We were right next to him in the right lane. Good thing the guy realized we were in the lane as well as Curtis being alert :P.
We had many encounters with almost missing stop signs, almost hitting rails, going over into the opposite lane. He also drives too close to vehicles. He swears that he doesn’t drive like this while alone. HAHA…sure, Curtis, I believe you (not)! Oh well, he is Asian, so it is a given, eh? Lol :P
Ok..so now it is Wednesday. I will try harder to update this more often. Writing a book every week+ isn’t fun :P
Oohs:
-Used my Squaw voucher, saved $50 (you know this is a big ooh to a broke girl :P)
-Weather in Tahoe was gorgeous!
-Finally took off my gas tank stickers, placed my tank protector on, and lubed my chain.
-Finally installed tire pump and bike lock on my bicycle.
Boos:
-I forgot to take my bathing suit to Tahoe. Ended up searching late, in the cold, for something to wear in the tub.
-Almost broke my face TWICE in soccer today.
-Stupid shoe rack fell off my closest door AGAIN!
Ahs
-Croc has 3900 lbs of biting force
-Shark has 1700 lbs of biting force
-I learned of how an air conditioner works. Lotta air moving around, dissipating, and changing temperature. I won’t explain the process, but will tell of the main components:
-Guys pee on the side of the bowl (instead of directly in the water) to try to ‘quiet’ their restroom visit. Now keep in mind the ‘Ahs’ section is not all cool stuff it is just stuff I have learned!
Thursday was Curtis’ (good friend I met at 24 hr. fitness in MH) 38th B-day! Rose (another friend met at MH 24 hr.) turned 49 and Shelly (friend I met through Ttan) turned 26.
For the last 3 years Rose, Curtis and I have been attending Todais on one of Rose or Curtis’ b-day. We got together at Todais again this year. The dinner was nice. There were about 15 of us, chatting, making fun, and eating. Of course we all stuffed ourselves- it’s buffet!
The guys and me went to Speedring. We did the sprint race (qualifying lap, then 20 minute race). Yes, race, which means NO black flags for riding too aggressive. NO blue flags for passing. More
The practice session is 12 minutes. You can’t bump people, or cut people off in the practice session. Boo! I always get black flagged during the practice session. When you are black flagged you have to pull in the pit for a ‘lecture’, which causes you to lose your lap time.
Friday
Went to watch Kelsey Jeffries (my old sparring partner) kick some butt! I was really pleased with her performance. She has definitely improved a lot since her last fight (4 mths ago). I had called her the night before to wish her good luck and throw out some suggestions. She really does a great job when she works her jab. She also has a killer left hook.
Saturday
Woke up real early (6:30) to head out to Metcalf shooting range for a morning of mucho shooting. Met Charles, Rebecca, Lissa, and Eric at Metcalf at 8.
Very fun guns! The rifle and pistol that I liked the most ~ 30-30 and .357 Magnum. I had a blast! Very nice of Charles, Lissa, and Eric to provide the guns and ammo! Woo! I need to get me some. Yea, yea….I will append it to my –already too long-‘Need to buy toy’ list.
Saturday I went for a drive on Calaveras. I borrowed my friend Shri’s Nikon. He has a nice camera. I took some nice pics. I will try to post them sometime this week.
The drive was nice! Nice weather, nice road, nice car. Man, I had fun driving! I think I am going to be the same w/ a sports car as I am w/a bike- always need to own one. If the weather is nice and you get the urge to go haul butt on some twisties, you can.
One the way home, I picked up my new snake, Brechet. He is a little bit older and bigger than Missy. He also is more active. He has an attitude, but I could change that :P.
He has a wishbone on his forehead. I wanted to name him something related to wishbone. I searched for relative words, but all I found were Merrythought and Furcula. Um, Hey Merrythought, come here…. Nah, I couldn’t name my snake either of those. So, after searching more I came across wishbone in French-Brechet. So, Brechet, come here…um, it is do-able. I now have a French male snake named Brechet.
Saturday evening I watched Mosley-Wright fight Mosely got worked. It was odd to see Mosely looking so bad in a fight. He was backing up, clearly uncomfortable and was getting popped left and right. Good fight. So was the Mesi-Jirov fight. Jirov is an awkward boxer, but is very tough.
Sunday I drove Uvas to the batting cages in San Martin. Man, do I miss going there every Sunday. Shoot, my back misses going there. My back is pretty tight n sore now :P
After hitting balls, I went down to Fresno with my friend, Mario, to watch Metallica and Godsmack The venue was pretty cool. The stage was in the center, so no matter where you sat you had a good view. Concert was fun.
I am off to bed now…Larissa didn’t sleep much last week and didn’t make up any sleep during the weekend, so NEEDS sleep!
Oohs
-Imran finally brought some of his mom’s Mint Chutney. Mmmm! His mom makes GREAT Chutney!
-Got my new snake!
-Beautiful weather!
Boos
-Imran’s “Sarah” went down. He lowsided. He is ok and so is the bike.
-SOOOO tired!

-Diaphragm irritation or an awry respiratory system causes hiccups. Diaphragm irritation can be caused by eating too fast. This explains why I get them every time after I eat.
Went on nice moto ride on Calaveras for lunch. Had Vietnamese..uh ick!
I had planned on going to some really good Indian/Pakistani restaurant in Fremont. My friend Harry took me there once. It's a 'wait around hovering for the people to get done eatin' place, but mmm good.
So, we left for the ride 'round 130. Were starvin starving by the time we rode into Fremont...long drive through town. Didn't see the restaurant near the corner, was starving, and then thought the shopping plaze nearby looked familiar. Pulled in, only saw Vietnamese places..ate at one. Like, I said...not the greatest.
Good ride, enjoyed..Calaveras is FUN road! Of course I was slow :X(! I shall hit this road a lot, I liked it. Car needs to see it :)
Boos
I have a tragic boo...
-Missy was found in Fluffy's (freak?flake?foofy?) litter box today. In ground up pieces :(
*Please all join me in a moment of silence..... ..... .... ... .. . :(* I am REALLY upset about this!
-Here they go again...CHUCHUNGCHECHOO! AnNoYiNg, LoUd, Chinese wife yelling at her husband. Chinga...2 apts down..2! I can hear her clearly!
-I suck at riding...I sooo slow!
-Um, I had to give my bike some throttle when I started it up after lunch today? Wth!?
Oos
-Hibiscus bloomed! Pretty woo...!
-Beautiful day! Beautiful ride!
-I finally installed a pretty nifty lil app that will allow me to easily sift through pics
Ahs

-Scientists are using robots on Mars to learn about things in Mars. The robotic field geologist found a very high concentration of sulfur. Sulfur, acids, magnesium, iron -- all put together under the carbon dioxide-rich skies of Mars -- could make Mars reek.
We had a power outage on Monday. Don’t really know the cause, but have seen the effect-messed up equipment, network outage, whole lot of down time. Made for a short day for most, since it went out at 130. I got to stay and turn off every panel-switch on every circuit breaker. Luckily another lab member assisted.
So today was spent fixing the problems. Woo, fun! Today I was in a bad mood. Perhaps this is why?
I made some personal phone calls (insurance, phone, etc.). I made one phone call to the police to request a copy of the police report of my accident in 2002. How can people in customer service be soo rude. Man that drives me mad. I cannot stand bad customer service.
I got the meanest *&%@$ there. She was incredibly rude and didn’t help me out at all/ “This is Santa Clara, we don’t deal with San Jose”. “I don’t know WHO did your report”. I don’t’ know WHO you need to talk to.” Ok, maybe this doesn’t sounds rude, but her tone…oOoh. I would have liked to ring her neck! I got upset and choked on the words I was going to tell her ( I was at work and VERY upset), then slammed the phone down. After I calmed down I felt dumb….Larissa you don’t act like that at work!
So then I got to look for the cheapest best flight to NC for my cousin’s June wedding. Man do I hate searching for stuff on the net…well, hm, I hate searching for stuff in stores too. Yea, it is Shopping I despise!
I have spent many hours in the last month in search for a reasonable airline ticket. No, don’t like the times, no don’t like the price, no, blablabla. Picky me, being, well, me-picky :P. I decide today that I would buy the ticket…I searched, consulted with my mama to see if the times worked for them. Searched, consulted, searched, consulted, searched consulted, searched…Give up! I give up! Close all windows related to Airlines. Dang it, I did it again! *breathe in, breathe out* You can do this Larissa…
I open up Yahoo airlines…search, consult…purchase. *Phew*…stupid airlines, stupid shopping, stupid :P.
Man, did someone have a bad day? All I did was complain! I guess I need to have mucho Oohs today then…hahahahha..yea, sure
Oohs
-VERY beautiful day! Hm, and these kind of days put me in a GREAT mood. Oh, dude...I was in a great mood on my way to work...I remember!
-Awesome weather!
-VERY nice day!
-Gorgeous weather!
Ok, so I cheated…it really was a beautiful day, but some reason I really had a crummy one?
Boos
-You know them all…
-Missed Toastmasters (I finally told myself last week that I was GOING this week, for sure!) due to fixing!
-Missed climbing due to mucho work
See…of course I could think of more boos!

Weekend…
Friday hung out with my friend, Imran (fellow Yami rider). We went climbing at Planet Granite This is the second time I have been to this facility. I have a membership at City Beach. We take turns on what facility to go to. Imran doesn't seem to really like City Beach though. Darn...Had a great workout, great climb!
I am still pondering on the question of which climbing facility I like better. I am more familiar with City Beach, which is why I think I like it better. However, Planet Granite gives me a better feel. The lighting is different, don’t know exactly what is different. The rocks have more shape, crevices, and angles to them. Hm…
We watched Pirates of the Caribbean after. Very good movie! Too bad I started watching it so late. I was exhausted near the end and miss a few scenes. I was amazed at the similarities of the movie and the Disney Land (Pirates of the Caribbean ride
Spent Sat mopping, vacuuming, dusting, woot!. Fun! Exciting! Not! I was cleaning on a beautiful Sat!
I went to Sake Lab in SF Sat evening. I joined Wayne (GSXR riding bud) and his friends for a night of drinking and dancing. Lucky Laris got to drive. Ick, SF, ick. I HATE driving in SF! It wasn’t too bad though…THIS time.
When I was going through my wanna be Mexican days :J in Highschool, I used to be the only white girl at the ‘parties’. I had that same experience Saturday evening- I was the only white girl at the Sake Lab also. All Asians and moi :P We were all dancing to Hip Hop. Not my fave towiggle too, but is do-able. Enjoyed the time.
Sunday I went for a ride to Monterey to enjoy the beautiful weather and scope out a fight my coach was putting on. My coach has recently been promoting. He has lost tons of money, but has high hopes.
We took Uvas Damm to 152, was going to go to 1 then Monterey…well VERY SAD! My friend crashed on the way up 152. I am familiar with that road so went on ahead. I was waiting at the end, in Watsonville. I waited for about 5 minutes. I knew he couldn’t be that far since I ended up getting stuck behind muchos carros on the decent.
A man in a black truck pulled over and asked me if I was riding with someone in a yellow bike. He said he crashed, his bike is in a ditch, and he seems ok.
CRAP! CRAP! Well, sure enough, he is sitting in the Park Rangers truck getting bandaged up. ARGh! This sucks! Good thing he only suffered road rash and bruises. His bike, on the other hand-cowling and main fairing blown and clutch pedal is broke.
Crashing is NEVER good! Sucks, majorly!
Oohs
-Great climb

I had planned on coming home to do Yoga then take a bath. I came home and remembered my ghetto tub. I only take bathes in that thing when I really need one, which is only once a week :P. I already had one this week.
I did a couple rounds on my punching bag. I got excited and decided to attempt kicking. Hey, I have been doing my Taebo. Sure I can kick now. Ha! Ha! I suck! I can kick a soccer ball, but punching bag? Forget it. I still continued to kick. I think I got one kick. Don't ask me what it is called. Yea, enjoyed, but glad I didn't join kickboxing. I prolley wouldn't have had the record I now hold.
I made some Banana Nut bread the other night. This was my second attempt. When I was 10 or so, I had entered a Banana Nut bread into the San Benito County Fair I received a green ribbon marked ‘Honorable Mention’. Written in the comments was, “The center is raw.” Oops.
So, this time I was sure to keep the temperature at the correct temp and keep the bread in the correct amount of time.
I put the bread in the oven right before I took my brother home. I didn’t know where he lived. On the way back I looked at the clock and thought, hm…55 min for bread, I haven’t been gone that long. I walk into my house and smell burnt banana bread! Shoot, first one I don’t bake long enough. 2nd one, I over bake. I pull it out of the oven it is dark brown (ok…black). Man, I burnt my banana nut bread!
Actually it is perfect! Ok, one step below perfect, could be more moist. It ended up coming out ok. Can’t really taste the burnt crust, lol. Phew!

Ghetto is when you can hear the neighbor’s conversation CLEARLY while standing in your bathroom
Ghetto is when your burner goes out in the middle of Tea time.
Ghetto is when your pipes knock when the hot water is running. Ok, maybe it isn’t ‘ghetto’, but a great accent to my ghetto apt :P.
Today was horrible….
Around lunchtime, 3 coworkers and I went for a short ride up 9. We took Pagemill to 9. Well, good ol’ slow Larissa decides to see just how slow she can go.
There was a nice sharp turn that immediately inclines. I was in 3rd gear and should have downshifted to 1st for the turn. I didn’t, but slowed down, started to ascend, then, whoa…too slow. I didn’t speed up, like an idiot. Bike bogged down…I kind of wobbled then couldn’t hold my bike up, so fell over.
MAD, MAD, MAD! My NEW bike is lying on the ground. I punch the gas tank. Oh, yea, smooth move, Larissa…can’t you see the bike rising and all fixed now. Yea, yea…I start to pick it up. Dang, can’t. I lay it back down. Rearrange my hands then pick it up. My coworker, Young, helps me move it to the shoulder. ANGRY, ANGRY, ANRGY.
Charles and Stacy realized we ain’t behind them, so they back track. Young and I are already on our way…Larissa is MAD, UPSET, wants to cry.
So, Most Important…damage to my bike:
-Minor scratch on mirror
-Minor scratch on now slightly bent brake lever
-Minor scratch on handlebar
-Minor scratch on belly fairing
Less Important…damage to Larissa:
-No broken bones
-No cuts
-No ruptures
-Major broken heart L
This ruined the rest of my day….
Random realization…. T he reason the left key doesn’t work is because it isn’t the alt key! It is the key. Some how they got switched? After all these days…I have been using my right key which isn’t as convenient since I seem to primarily use my left hand for bing between windows.
This evening I cooked my first Indian dish. It was a Veggie dish (bbq mushrooms[called this, but didn’t require bbqin?], lemon rice, and coconut cabbage. I had planned on making tandoori cauliflower, but seemed to have forgotten to purchase the cauliflower.
Well, it wasn’t the best meal. Cabbage was good. Rice was dry and blanned. Mushrooms were good. I had my veggie Indian friend, Shri join me for din. He brought over some Indian bread...mmm. I could easily get fat eating too much of those, they are good.
Shri also brought over some tea. I wanted to purchase some Indian tea yesterday, but I didn’t know which to buy. Shri enlightened me of 3 types of Indian Teas:
-Masala (spicy)
-Black powder
-Black leaves
and brought me a sample of each :P
Oohs

I was searching for some free ‘Leadership’ books online. I came across one Strategies and Tactics for Management. Opening it up, I saw it also read Pesticide Resistance. Hey, that’ll work, lol. I then noticed the books weren’t on Leadership/Management in the work place.

As I was going through the door my ‘cowboy’ bfriend, Levi decides to touch my fanny. AH!! AH!! I was scared and startled and, and, dumped him. He was no longer my boyfriend. Ha…yes, Larissa dumped her 5th grade ‘boyfriend’ cause he grabbed her.
I was discussing with a friend about my lack of ablility to complete one task a time. My hypothesis was it was due to getting bored when I just do one thing at a time. He suggests I have ADD. Haha, no…I don’t believe I do. I am trying to work on the ‘focus’ bit though.
My dad used to bake some delicious Granny Smith apples. He would core the apple, then throw in op, shoot. I can’t be giving out the recipe. Well, it is mm good! I baked one this evening and decided to add a few flakes of coconut that I saw I had leftover. Tasty!
