I bought myself the Tingler

I had a nice Christmas. I went to visit my folks in smelly old Modesto. I whipped my Dad at Poker. I was able to read his game by the fifth hand.

Ian brought his Xbox so Peanut (Nathan), Spanky (Zachary) and ET (Ian) played surf games, war games and baseball games.

My mom chopped veggies, listened to Christmas music and made din.

We had a nice time…although it was the first Christmas w/o Anson! Yea, NO Anson L. This is one thing that I was not looking forward to when he got married. This is what I didn’t want to happen. This sucks!

We did get to chat. Anson and Sara sent me a beautiful Silver, Jade and Rubyish? pendant. It is different looking, but it is very nice!

Ian got me a knife of shadows from Toledo, Spain. It isn’t a sword, like this picture shows. It has the same handle, but a shorter blade.

I got a Craftsman 8-drawer tool chest with a top 3-drawer chest, riser, and bottom 5-drawer with casters. It’s nice… now I just need to upgrade and expand my tools.

I also got 2 foot spas ,a tabletop poker and blackjack, poker chips and an Aromatherapy fountain…ooh, I like these J

I got another fountain

Now, ya see me soaking my feet in my foot spa, smelling my aroma from my foutain while listening to the relaxing rain forest…

I’m heading to Vegas tomorrow morning. Wish me luck, it’s going to be crazy!

Have a Happy New Year!

I wrapped some gifts today. What is up with odd shaped boxes? You know how difficult it is to wrap a trapezoid? A triangle? A stupid hard plastic half bubble half box thing-a-ma-jig? I was getting mad and ended up ruining my wrapping. Yea, if you got an odd shaped box, you got a terrible wrapping job :).

Work continued to be crazy today and will for the next ~6 mths. I have trips planned (Hawaii in January and Spain in Spring). I doubt I will be able to make it...but will hope. I have so many project plans, but have to move first! I'm jotting them down in hopes to have time and team willingness and participation to drive them to completion- HA! Man am I dreaming?!

It is suppose to rain while we are in Las Vegas. Ick, cold and rainy? That sucks!

It will be a year, oh wait, it has been a year, since I have known Mario.. I met him in Vegas Last year at the end of November? Beginning of December? Shoot, if I met him in the 5th grade I would know the exact day I met him cause I would have posted it in my hot pink diary.

NO we are not going to Vegas for some Anniversary deal. I have a brother that is more 'sensual' than me. He did some big thing for his chica for their 1 yr anniversary of knowing each other? Or something..lol, how gay :P.

We are going to see Mystere, a Cirque du Soleil. If you have never seen one of their shows, you got to! They are AMAZING! If I stuck with gymnastics and chose to make a living off it, this is the kind of stuff I'd be doing. Man, every time I see a show I'm in awe. I think, man, I wanna do that. OOOH, that is cool, I wanna do that.. WOW!

I went to Heavenly on Saturday and Kirkwood on Sunday with both of my younger brothers, Nathan and Zachary. One of my older brothers, Ian was suppose to come, but he made up some excuses. He said he is sick, he has finals, blablabla. But where was he on Saturday!?!?

Mario and his friends went to Tahoe as well. His friend, Dave- Pugs turned 21, who has now taken a big disliking to Jack.

Derek and Mario met up with us on their skis, at Kirkwood.

Kirkwood has some nice snow! I admit, I was weary about the snow conditions since it hadn’t snowed in 1.5 wks, it was early in the season, and the roads were dry. Even so, the snow was good and riding was fun.

I tried out my new FLOW bindings and didn’t have $180 worth of an impression. The clown at the Sporting goods dept. said a medium would fit. Uh huh…sure, fit someone else’s feet, some other boots; but not this set of feet n boots.

I had to re-tighten them before every run. They are not supposed to come loose.

It sucks when your boots or bindings are loose. You can’t carve as wide, which means you can’t go as fast. You have to make sharper carves so you don’t stay on one side too long. Bummer….

I’m still not done with my Christmas shopping. I have a few gifts left. You know what gifts these are? These are for people who don’t know how to provide a Christmas List. Larissa HATES shopping. Larissa despises having to go into a store to look around for the ‘something’ that this someone wants. ARGH! I am very close to calling their gifts off :P

Work has been insane! How can you get your work done if you constantly have Engineers coming up to you requesting assistance? Easy, delegate the work to your team members, right? WRONG! WRONG if you can’t depend on your team.

I think it is harder being in a position where you have some authority, but can’t simply boot someone.

I am ready to kick some people in the head…

I hope I can enjoy my New Years in Vegas. It will be crazy! I hope I make it out alive. Yea, I know- no fights. I will try.

Our director had a meeting the other day and our VP (his boss) spoke. Man, she is an amazing woman! This lady has very reasonable, healthy goals. She is a ‘direct, get the job done, put your whole effort into it’ kind of gal. She sets goals and she accomplishes them. She is very driven! She constantly challenges herself. She seems like she will be a great asset to the company. I’m very interested in seeing her work.

Ok, I need to get to bed. These bags under my eyes are too full. I’ve been working too much and not sleeping enough. One good thing though, I’ve been making sure I get my workouts in.

I got to playing bball again (after finger swelled up). I, for some reason, decided to wear my running tennies instead of my bball shoes. I ended up stepping back wrong and tilted my foot wrong. Great- swollen ankle. I think I’ve gotten more beat up in bball than I have while I was in boxing.

These guys I play with are the biggest foul callers. Sure, I foul, I’m aggressive, I play ball; but come on a foul every 2 min?!?! You’ve GOT to be KIDDING. Whiners, Whiners, Whiners! I’ve never heard of so many fouls. That’s it…Imma give them a reason to call a foul on me * BHAM*

The internet can be a good source as well as a bad source; providing too much information. So my next class is “Teamwork and Collaboration”. I was reading the overview for next week’s class and it got me thinking…

Our work team sucks. The team needs major improvements. We got a new manager ~ 2yrs ago who has made lots of changes, for the better. However, the root of the problem (the members) is still there. If you can’t get rid of them, what do you do?

Sorry, went off on a little tangent. I wasn’t writing about that, but about… *adjusts train of thought* Ok…so yada yada, got me thinking about teams… So, I was reading…right…and came to the section titled, “Team Parameters”. In the team parameters I read the following strategies:
-How will we divide the work?
-What timeline will we use to assure we are on track?
-How will we measure our successes?
-What tools or methods will we use?
-What resources will we need?

Then I thought, hm….what parameters should a support team have in place? Did a search on google, “support team parameters” and came across this article:
http://www.commweb.com/howto/51000097
Now, it’s an article about the various support software you can use to automate case assignment, track time taken to complete cases, create SLA’s, etc. However, it addressed some key elements:
-support reps are responsible for resolving customers' requests.
-expect responses and resolutions to their queries within certain timeframes and conditions
-if the parameters for timeframes and conditions are explicit, then the support organizations refer to these parameters as service level agreements (SLAs).
-adherence to SLAs alone isn't what keeps customers loyal; it's whether support reps seem willing and able to help them.

Ok, this may not mean anything to you, but I see something J. So why do I say it is a bad source for providing too much information? Cause now it got me thinking, so I search more and read more and think more and, and, it’s 1100pm why should I be thinking all this?!?
*Completes ramble session*

I hadn’t realized it has been so long to write.. sorry, I’ve been extremely busy. Sound new? I know, not at all!

I started playing basketball with some co-workers once or twice a week. Our 3rd week my left forefinger decided I needed a rest. The top part of my finger distal interphalangeal joint snapped back on Viren’s boney knee. My finger swelled up. It is a bit closer to normal size now, but I still cannot bend it easily. Fun?! Oh yes…, but I should be ok for next weeks game. I did better this week, 30-21 vs 30-4 the week before J. Yea, the loser was me.

I lost some weight, woo cool? Yea.. but wait a sec,… where did I lose it? The only place I had something, son bout! :O Yea, I know…I guess I will have to bank on this idea ok=” I give up. My mom had said that her doc told her boobs grow until your 30’s, I can’t find ANYTHING” … or maybe I could try some href="http://www.megabust.com/Saw_Palmetto.html">Saw Palmetto

Huhs:
-Why are salad toppings called ‘toppings’ when they always end up on the bottom?

Oohs:
-2 ‘A’s’ in school so far!

Boos:
-Snake is still meeean. Anyone want him? I think I might be giving up on pets…
-My PG&E bill went up 40 bucks!

Ahs:
-Hm, I almost mistaked the ‘ah’ for a hm…
-Um, um…Christmas trees are grown in all 50 states. Top 3 states are California, Michigan , and North Carolina
